My vision for the future

I recently learned that 40% of the Village residents are over 60. That presents two distinct paths to follow:

creating a Village that helps our older residents age gracefully and in place if they choose

and

creating a Village that attracts and keeps younger people as a place to grow and have families

I want to

  • find technologies to tackle our lack of sewer system. Lack of septic capacity frequently prevents people from rebuilding when a building comes down
  • explore energy options, perhaps a solar farm, that will provide more self reliant and less expensive power as Sherburne has done
  • seek out business owners to open in the Village a new laundry, a marketplace with many local food vendors to replace the closed supermarket, and perhaps a wine and liquor store.
  • get sidewalks throughout the Village
  • enforce the speed limits particularly when trucks speed through our Village
  • set up a wellness system to check on our elder residents during emergencies
  • restore Zoom options for residents to attend the Village meetings from home

and lots more..but

MORE THAN ANYTHING, I want to encourage and invite residents to get involved and vote.

Two elections ago less than 40 people voted. We can do better.
